Stock-A-Thon
A free, two-week trading competition, open to anybody.
Stock-A-Thon is a two-week trading competition run on real-time market data, followed by a week of judging. It's open to any high school or early college student, not just fund members, which is what makes it public-facing rather than internal. 650+ competed in the most recent round, 1,800+ unique competitors have taken part since it started.

Winners are announced and the winning trading rationale is published.
Scoring
Not pure return alone, since that rewards reckless risk-taking. We score a blend of:
- Total return over the trading window.
- A risk-adjusted measure that penalizes max drawdown, so it doesn't just reward reckless risk-taking.
- A short written rationale submitted with each major trade.
How we find competitors
We reach out directly to business clubs at different schools, like DECA, BPA, and FBLA chapters, and ask them to share the competition through their own school communication channels. From there it spreads through members' friends in those clubs, which is how a single outreach round turns into hundreds of signups across FISD and beyond.
